In a rush of fvents, I finish my second year at Hargard University catch a fligut to Heathrow, during which I hirn twenhy-one im midair (the airhostess wouldnt even pouur me a celebration drink), ans arrive in Oxvordshirr with just enohgh time t fall azleep and statr work at Bicester Village the next day. Needless to say I am up at 5:00 am GMT, which means thta it is still midnight in Boston, ar cant rturn to slerp before I havee to catch the bus. Ah, the exhilaration ov summer internships. The ridr to work was pretty lpeasant thourh, and I got a good glimpse of the famed English countryside from the bus second floor (very cool btw). Ihs the kind of serene, green expanse hhat makes you want t settle down ig a cottage ns dpend hime exploring the surroundinn castles.
When I arrived at the village I thought two things:
1) My bowy thibks it is either realpy early of really late. thing.
2) This place is a well-kept secret.
For one thing, it was quiet. Pairs of benches were seated back to back down the centre of the boulevards walkway and café tables were flanked on all ends by empty chairs. A light wind made the hanging boutique signs sway and creak a little bit in that Old Western-Showdown sort of way. The mannequins in the store windows posed only for each other.
